Action director, stunt coordinator, actor, FX engineer, costume and stage weapons designer, animal trainer, Cristian is also a: tactical adviser, stunt rigger, marine op seasoned and boating experienced.
Born at the end of 70’s, forged on the
streets of Romania, Cristian entered the martial arts world and never looked
back. In parallel he followed his dream of becoming a stuntman and fought his
way up to the top of world action figures. Also, a culture and history buff,
Cristian is always keen to share ideas, thoughts and impressions.
Attracted
by nature, outdoor activities and science as a general concept, Cristian took
part in numerous workshops and classes for children: drama, drawing and
painting, natural sciences, radio, range shooting, etc... He even won a second
place in a national storytelling contest and was aired on radio.
JUDO only was
available to the public back then (1985) in Romania and was Cristian’s first
contact with the martial arts world. After that, Cristian trains in diverse
fighting systems, styles and schools. He becomes a black belt (Qwan Ki Do
style) in 1995 and won the 2nd place at The Qwan Ki Do National Fight
Championship in 1996. Cristian used to perform or do the choreography for lots of
martial arts theme shows in Romania and besides, he worked as a bouncer and VIP
bodyguard.
In Bucharest, Cristian studied at the
Polytechnic University and the Veterinary University. Also in there, he taught
at his own martial arts school, between 1998 – 2000.
In 2000, Cristian had the opportunity to
meet his idol, the world famous stunt master, action director and actor, Szoby
Cseh, who tested and accepted Cristian as his student at the stunt school (at
MediaPro Film Studios back then). Cristian become Szoby’s assistant and taught stage
movement and stage combat classes at The Film Academy Bucharest, Film & TV
School and various other acting related seminars.
Cristian is often invited to share his
extensive experience in conferences and workshops, also.
Cristian was the stunt coordinator of the
UK Stunt Team “Sport-X-Treme”, back in 2003, when the team won the 2nd
place in The World Stunt Championship, held in Moscow (Russia). During this event, the Russian action star,
Gosha Kutsenko, nicknamed Cristian: SAFE DRACULA … and it become Cristian’s second name in the industry.
Later, in 2013, Cristian received another
nickname, “El Diablo” (The Devil), some claim due his performance as pirate
captain Pablo El Diablo in a pirate theme live action show in The Caribbean,
some claim to be due to his sword & dagger skills, some due to his strong
character and so on. But anyway, it seems to fit him!
As a script writer, Cristian has a few
projects already out and a few others in development or pre-production.
Multilingual skilled, he speaks: English, Spanish, Romanian, French, Italian and Russian and he is able to understand some German, Serbian, Turkish and Romani.
Besides film, Cristian has some personal projects,
social or art oriented, and one of those was to post for a full year, almost
daily (between 2020/2021), a FB live video on his page, reminding and
commenting important historical events, both international and local. He also
made a two parts Youtube video about the history of Roman, the city where he
was born.
In 2005,
Szoby Cseh and Cristian, started the "Gladiator" program in
Bucharest, Romania - a free educational and training center for underprivileged
youngsters, using sports and artistic methods. Cristian was Chief Instructorat “Gladiator” until the end of 2012, when he was asked for another long
project abroad and he left Romania.
